This volume introduces the reader to the field of systems medicine by defining its terminology, and describing how established computational methods from bioinformatics and systems biology can be taken forward to establish integrative systems medicine approaches. Systems Medicine provides an outlook on the role that systems medicine may or should play in various medical fields. Describing different facets of the systems medicine approach in action, including examples related to human metabolism, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, the RNAs in biomedicine and regenerative stem cell medicine.
